General

Welcome to Chelsfield Park FC's Sunday football, 10.00am to 11.30am at the Harris Academy, Orpington - a friendly game open to everyone.

  • Sign up to games using the footyaddicts.com website. Each month's games are usually added about half way through the month before - the currently available games should always be shown here: http://sunday.footballgods.net/games.
  • If you are signed up and find you can't play, please 'Leave the Game' via footyaddicts so someone can take the spot and no team is left short. Even if it's on the morning of the match, many players live very close so can still take the space.
  • Bibs are provided.
  • The goal keeper rotates - please can everyone take their turn.
  • Please arrive and be ready to play by 9.45am at the latest so the teams can be chosen at 9.55am and we can kick off at 10.00am. We finish promptly at 11.30am so the sooner EVERYONE arrives, the longer we all get to play.
  • A no-show without dropping out on footy addicts will be penalised by a full week on goal-keeping duties. A subsequent no-show will result in a permanent ban.
  • Should extreme conditions such as snow or ice, be forecast, the game will be cancelled and you will be refunded, so please check your emails if it looks doubtful. Rain will not stop us.

Game Format

Six teams of 8 players will be chosen by rating & position to be as equal and balanced as possible. The teams will go up on the screen between pitches 1 & 2 at 9.55am. Please pick up your bib and go to the designated pitch.

Each team will play three matches. The fixtures from round 2 onwards will be designed to keep the matches as close as possible. A teams final rating is made up of its results weighted by the quality of each opposition.

Occasionally we will do a full 11 A'Side match instead.

Game Rules

  • The side and end walls can be used to bounce the ball off. We play to the outer blue lines on the middle pitch and the inner blue line on the two end pitches. Play is restarted by a throw in. Foul throws are penalised.
  • Back passes to the keeper are allowed and can be picked up. Keepers can come out of their area which is marked by a blue semi-circle, but may only handle the ball within it. Handling outside the area is a direct free kick.
  • After a goal, play resumes from the keeper. If the ball goes behind the goal it's either a corner or a goal kick (not a punt) from the edge of the area.
  • You cannot score directly from a throw in or a corner, it must touch at least one other player or the keeper first.
  • For corners the ball can be moved slightly away from the fence. For corners, you cannot bounce it off the back wall. If it hits the back wall before touching another player it's an immediate goal kick.
  • Deliberate handballs where the player has time to react and the hand/arm moves towards the ball, or fails to be moved out of the way, are a free kick/penalty.
  • Accidental handballs where the player scores in their opponents goal either directly from the hand/arm or immediately after handling it are a free kick to the defending team.
  • All other accidental handballs, play on (we do not play the "unnaturally bigger" scenario as that would be too subjective without a referee).
  • There are no head height or offside rules.
  • We referee ourselves. Please don't call out every borderline infringement (especially accidental handballs). We try and let the game flow.
  • Be nice to each other - only positive encouragement. No sliding tackles.
